Since the beginning, Catalyst has relied on volunteers from our community
to answer our 24 hour crisis line, help clients access shelter, offer
support to our clients and their children in shelter, and work with our
Domestic Violence Response Team.
Our volunteers are the backbone of our
organization and without them we would not be able to offer the amount and
quality of services we do.
We ask for a commitment of a minimum of 6
months and 20 hours per month. Internships are also available through
Chico State and Butte College for fields such as Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology and Social Work, so
volunteers can earn units while gaining valuable experience.
All of our volunteers go through a
training program that certifies them as Crisis Line Counselors. The
45-hour training occurs tri-annually. The trainings are held in the
Fall, Spring and Summer. Time and location of the training change
for each session. For more information, please contact our Volunteer
Coordinator at 343-7798.
